What I’ve Learned from Hosting 6 Sold-Out Reformer Pilates Retreats

Hosting six retreats in the beautiful Algarve has been one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life.

Hand down each one has been full of surprises, lessons, and moments I’ll treasure forever and ever!

I want to share a few things I’ve learned along the way:

1. Women Need to Prioritise Themselves and That’s Hard
I say this because I’ve been there too and still dip in and out! We’re busy caring for everyone else, telling ourselves it’s too expensive or that “nothing will really change.” But I’ve seen it firsthand when women make the choice to put themselves first, even just for a little while, it makes all the difference. The transformation I’ve witnessed during these retreats confirms that self-care isn’t a luxury. It’s essential. And yes, it’s challenging but worth it. Remember you can´t pour from an empty cup.

2. Small Changes Can Make a Big Difference
A simple breathwork technique can transform how i feel in moments, and i learnt this on one of my retreats on a Breathwork workshop. It doesn´t need to be fancy or a bio-hack! Simplicity is often the key.

3. Reformer Pilates Is the Perfect Support System
I’ve been teaching Reformer Pilates for 12 years, and every time I see how it supports women in these retreats, physically and mentally, I’m amazed. It’s challenging, yes. But it’s also incredibly supportive, offering just the right balance. It is such an integral part of my retreat, and for these reasons.

4. Healing Comes in Many Forms
Whether it’s movement, sharing stories, or quiet moments, I’ve seen women leave lighter, stronger, and more connected. Sometimes it’s a heartfelt breath or a moment of stillness, small things that create big change.

5. The Power of Community
There’s nothing like witnessing women come together, supporting each other, laughing, and sharing experiences. I have laughed so hard on these retreats, you know the kind where your face hurts from laughing too much?!

6. Expect the Unexpected — No Retreat Is the Same
And that’s what makes each retreat special. The surprises, the shifts, the connections every single one brings something new. That’s the beauty of it. No two retreats ever look or feel exactly the same, and I think that’s what keeps it so alive and meaningful.

Hosting these retreats has shown me again and again that when women give themselves permission to pause, to nurture themselves, they can come out stronger and more alive. If you’re considering taking that step join me on a Reformer Pilates Retreat, it is the retreat you´ve been searching for.
